Q. What is a Child’s Voice Foundation?

A. A Child’s Voice Foundation, established in 1995, is a national non-profit organization dedicated to support and enhance the physical and emotional well being of less fortunate children in Canada.

Q. Who manages the Foundation?

A. A Child’s Voice Foundation is managed by a voluntary Board of Directors and the Executive Director. Individual programs are run a program coordinator.

Q. What types of programs does your charity provide?

A. Our Foundation provides 3 distinct programs to help financially disadvantaged kids: Kid's Life LineAngel Hair for Kids and Kid's Nutrition and Life Skills Club.

Q. How does your Foundation differ from other children’s charities?

A. A Child’s Voice Foundation, through our various programs, provides tangible help that will make a real difference in the lives of sick and underprivileged children and their families. We do not raise money for research.

Q. Where does my donation go?

A. All donations of monies, products, hair and services are collected by A Child’s Voice Foundation and distributed accordingly to the appropriate Program.

Q. May I request that my donation go to a specific program?

A. Yes. Please specify what program you would like your money to support at the time of your donation.

Q. How can I volunteer for one of your programs?

A. We welcome volunteers! Simply email our coordinator with an idea of how much time you have and what kinds of things you can do.

Q. Do you issue tax receipts?

A. Yes, for all donations over $20.

Q. How can I make a donation?

A. Simply fill out the online donation form with your full information and credit card details. If you wish to send your donation, print out the donation form, fill it in and send it with your donation to A Child’s Voice Foundation.

Q. How are requests received and evaluated?

A. We have a streamlined process that begins with the child’s request  that can come through a social worker, healthcare provider or community leader. Each request is evaluated based on a set of criteria and then a decision is made as how to best fulfill the request.

Q. Do you ever give money directly to the child in need?

A. No. We do not.

Q. How many kids do you help each year?

A. Since A Child’s Voice Foundation began 11 years ago we have been able to help over 240 children. Approximately 24 come to us each year and the demand, unfortunately, is growing.

Q. What types of fundraising events do you run?

A. A Child’s Voice Foundation runs a series of events each year to raise money for its programs. Each of our individual program areas also have their own events. In addition, corporations, communities, schools and individuals create and manage fundraising events across Canada.
